Lazy-i Best of 2004 Compilation Hard to believe that I've been making these end-of-year best-of comps for 10 years now, beginning with cassettes in '94 and switching to CDs in '99. Among the artists on that first cassette were oddities like Bunnygrunt, Game Theory, Zuzu's Petals and The Mahoots, as well as stars like Pavement, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Wedding Present and good ol' Simon Joyner. This year, seven Omaha artists are represented on the CD -- a testament to how our scene has grown over the years. The year's CD case design is sort of an homage to the first tape case from back in 1994 -- affectionately known as The Alpo Mix. World-class designer Donovan Beery of eleven19.com did his usual amazing job. So who gets a copy? I make about 50 of them for friends, family and industry folks I've been in contact with throughout the year. It's a fun substitute for sending out Christmas cards. Want a copy? Enter the Lazy-I Best of 2004 Giveaway! All you have to do is e-mail me (tim@lazy-i.com) with your name and mailing address and you'll be entered in the drawing. Hurry! Deadline's Jan. 17!
