On
one hand, I like the angular rawness, the borderline hardcore power
and energy, the breaks and change-ups. But the overall dissonance
loses me, along with guttural scream vocals and rather thin recording.
Then there's the subject matter. Songs like "Over a Hustle"
and "The Don, the Beater, the Daun Bratty" seem like a
stretch coming from a bunch of guys from Kalamazoo. Sorry, but I
don't buy it. If these guys want to scream in anger, they can at
least scream in anger over something they know about and not something
they saw on TV.
